Boardsports Against Breast Cancer
Les Ettes was a proud sponsor of The
Boardsports Against Breast Cancer evening. Their goal to raise $2000 to donate to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation was more than doubled! Congratulations Emily for organizing it!
On the morning of their inaugural BABC silent auction and raffle, Emily’s co-worker lost her mother to a long battle with Breast Cancer. The unfortunate coincidence of such an event made them decide to contribute the funds raised to the CBCF in her name.
In Emily’s words: “The 120 plus people in attendance represent the most compassionate people in the action sports industry and the 20 something brands and companies supporting our efforts definitely represent the most caring and dedicated businesses in action sports.”

Girls Skate Session in Amsterdam this weekend
GIRLS SKATE SESSION SKATEPARK AMSTERDAM joined by EVELIEN BOUILLIART & LOUISA MENKE! Monday the 5th of APRIL 2010!
A shoutout to all girls that love skateboarding! On the 5th of april a special girl session is held in Skatepark Amsterdam in collaboration with NL skate crew called Girls Shred.
Girls Shred and Skatepark Amsterdam made a program especially for girls. Well known female riders Evelien Bouilliart (BE) and Louisa Menke (NL) will give clinics for advanced riders in the afternoon. Beginners in skateboarding can get a lesson from Skatepark Amsterdams own female instructors. Lessons, boardrental, protection gear all free!.
When the hard work is done we show the all girl skate movie: “As if, and what” by Jenna Selby (Rogues Skateboards, UK) which was released in december 2009, and shows footage from Lucy Adams, Sue Hazel, Lois Pendlebury, Helena Long etc.
To complete the whole afternoon there will be a lot of ice cream to consume! either with or without whipcream.

News from Les Ettes snowboarder Magalie Dubois
Hey guys!!!!!
It has been a lil’ while :)! A lot of new changes for me up here…
So my initial plan was to move to Whistler all winter but with the Olympics madness, it was basically impossible to find a spot at a decent price! So then I was gonna move to SLC instead… I also wanted to produce an all-girl snowboard movie with a different type of concept that we haven’t seen yet!
So I had a lot of plan goin’ on, wanted to buy a camera, had a place to live at Hana Beaman’s… but basically a week before heading to UT, I learned that the class I was taking during the fall wasn’t gonna be given when I was planning on coming back to Quebec, so it would’ve taken me an extra year to finish school. REALITY CHECK right there!!! What do I do?!!!
Well, I decided it wasn’t worth it to stretch it out that much and decided to stay in Quebec and go to school 3 days a week, plenty time to go shred. I also work as a massage therapist in a spa up here!
There’s way enough of jibs and spots to shoot around Quebec and the areas to get productive I tought, so I wasn’t too worried and was up for the challenge and I still had in mind to make my movie!
But I didn’t expect that there wouldn’t be any snow this winter up here!!!! So I haven’t been shooting much! It ‘s been crazy sunny and like +7C for the past 3 weeks, so I’m not really hoping for a snow comeback. In other words, I’ve been under spring condition in the park for the past 3 weeks cause there’s absolutely no snow in the streets… Go figure but hey, I’m having so much fun, been shredding in hoodies like there’s no tomorrow! Keeping my filming project in that lil’ brain of mine, waiting to get exploited next winter with actual snow ;)!
Last weekend I headed out to a contest, the SNOWMISSION, only a 8 hours drive jeeeez! We we’re a bunch of idiots stacked in the Axis van. Spent the weekend in Rimouski, up north of Qc. It was amaaaaaazingly fun, the set-up was just awesome, saw so many of my friends I haven’t seen in a while, placed 3rd and cashed in a bit! And obviously partied my life away, showed the dance floor who was the boss and spent a lil’ 20% of the gain!
Then, in 2 weeks it’s the BIllabong Flaunt it, an all-girl slopestyle up where I live! So that should be a lot of fun! Shredding spring style condition till the end of the season hopefully!
Looking forward to shoot a bit in the park obviously, send you guys some sweet shots!!! I’ll keep ya posted on how it goes!!! Keep shredding hard!!!

GIRLS ROCK THE PARK – TOURSTOPP im LIVINGROOM, Mühlbach am Hochkönig beim Arthurhaus, 20. & 21.03.2010
25 motivierte Mädels, Sonnenschein und viele neue Tricks machten den letzten Tourstopp der „Girls-rock-the-Park“ Camp-Serie 2010 zum vollen Erfolg!
Vergangenes Wochenende ging die „Girls-rock-the-Park“ Camp-Serie mit dem 5. Tourstopp im LIVINGROOM in Mühlbach am Hochkönig für diesen Winter in seine letzte Runde. Zwei Tage lang konnten die Mädels noch einmal mit professionellen Coaches Freestyle Basics und neue Tricks an den Obstacles im super geshapten LIVINGROOM - Snowpark lernen.
Der finale Campstopp war mit 25 Teilnehmerinnen aus ganz Deutschland und Österreich wieder mehr als ausgebucht. Um das Wohl der Mädels im Park kümmerten sich dieses Mal die Snowboard Coaches Lena Waizenegger, Angi Reisinger und Nicola Reinthaler und Freeski Coach Steve Gröbner, sowie die gesamte Crew rund um den livingroom-hochkoenig.at, der seinem Beinamen “Dein Wohnzimmer am Berg” wirklich alle Ehre machte. Auf die Campteilnehmerinnen warteten Jibostacles und Naturschnee-Kicker in allen Größen und Varianten und eine gemütliche Lounge und Schirmbar zum relaxen, die ganz und gar ohne Apres-Ski Sound auskommt. Wohlfühlen ist hier eben Ehrensache!
Freitagabend war Anreise ins Hochkeilhaus, der netten Jugendherberge auf 1.400 m und somit direkt neben der Piste. Samstag um 9 Uhr startete die erste Camp Session…

just came back from Japan. here are some impressionssssss. I can just recommend to visit Japan! the culture is amazing as well as the food. Powder is great too, but we didn’t get many powder days and I unfortunately hurt my knee. But still had a great time!
“Crazy monkey” Kako, the boss of the pension island, is such an incredible
individual and snowboarder. Kako you rock!
